What began at a kitchen table, Packaging Personified is now a nationwide packaging manufacturing firm.
In 1975, our founders Dominic Imburgia and Phyllis Muccianti sat at a kitchen table and came up with the idea for a flexible packaging business. Both worked at Sears and used their experience and knowledge from the retail industry to coordinate and procure flexible packaging for third-party use. As entrepreneurs and firm believers in products and services, they began their sales at that same kitchen table. Within four months, the booming business needed more room to grow.
Two years later, Packaging Personified began running their first production lines. Yet even with the converters, they still needed to purchase raw materials from film extruders and flexographic printers. The duo wanted to have full control of the quality product they believed in, and with the addition of a printing press and more converters, they eventually outgrew their space. A few years after starting their business they purchased their first manufacturing facility but soon outgrew that space. In 1989 Packaging Personified once again out grew their facility and built a 50,000 square foot facility in Carol Stream. As the business continued to grow they added extrusion and expanded both printing and converting capacities. Eventually the Carol Stream operation expanded to 135,000 square feet and included printing, converting, extrusion, lamination, slitting/folding and graphics separation and proofing. In November 2002, an additional facility in Sparta, Michigan, was acquired to open up more opportunity in new markets. As a result, over 100 new jobs were created.
Packaging Personified continues to grow and has become a nationwide supplier of packaging and associated services for a wide variety of flexible packaging products. Growing to include a multi-site manufacturer with on-site extrusion, flexographic printing, converting, laser-perforation, lamination, graphics separation and proofing and consultation. Packaging Personified is the perfect example of how striving to deliver quality and service builds customer relationships and opportunities to grow.
